The University of Virginia Department of Physics will host the 83rd Annual Meeting of he Southeastern Section of the APS at the Omni Hotel on November 10, 11, and 12 of this year. There will be invited and contributed papers from Southeastern universities in many areas of physics and astronomy including invited and contributed sessions from the Livingston LIGO gravity wave experiment.

As a special aspect of this meeting will be a public lecture on Wednesday night, Nov. 9th before the meeting by the Nobel laureate Adam Riess on Dark Energy.

We encourage faculty, graduate and undergraduate Physics Department students to consider submitting papers or posters on their work to the conference.
