Diego Ibarra Hoyos is the Recipient of William Lewis Piotrowski Fellowship in Physics.  From the Associate Dean for Graduate Education:

This fellowship recognizes your outstanding academic achievements and potential in your field of study, and it is among the highest honors bestowed by the Graduate School.

Carolyn Powell Piotrowski established the William Lewis Piotrowski Fellowship Fund in 2021 to provide support for graduate students in the Department of Physics in memory of her husband, William Piotrowski, a 1965 Ph.D. physics graduate of the University of Virginia.
