"Rotation-sensing atom interferometer using an atom chip"

Zekun Chu , University of Virginia
[Host: Cass Sackett]
ABSTRACT:

Sagnac matter-wave interferometer possesses intrinsic sensitivity for rotation sensing. In this talk, I’ll discuss the basic theory and experimental procedure of interferometry for rotation measurement, using Bose-Einstein condensates in a designed AC magnetic waveguide. Our next step plan, upgrading the system and implementing an atom chip to achieve better performance, will also be proposed here.
